Volunteer at the Club
Following is a
brief overview of the volunteer job descriptions available within the
organization.

|
Mentor |
Helps a member to broaden his/her vision of
opportunities, understand the value of education and accomplish academic
and personal goals. A mentor is a companion, role model, advocate,
motivator, resource, guide and helper, but not a parent, social worker,
psychiatrist, a judge or Santa Claus. |
|
Lunch Buddy
|
Shares food, fun, and friendship with a member.
|
|
Tutor
|
Provides one-on-one support for the member by working
under the direction of the Director of Education. A tutor may listen to
a member read, review material, and assist with homework, work sheets,
math problems or chapter questions. |
|
Volunteer Reading Tutor |
Assists the member in extending the language skills of
listening, speaking, reading, and writing by providing experiences to
meet the individual needs of members. |
|
Volunteer Mathematics Tutor |
Reinforces math skills by working with individual
members or small groups. |
|
Storytelling and/or Book Reviewer
|
To have reading become a meaningful part of a member’s
life, through storytelling, dramatizing, and book reviews. |
|
Arts and Crafts Volunteer
|
Provides additional opportunities for members to
develop their creativity and feel proud of their accomplishments in arts
and crafts. |
|
Athletics Volunteer |
Provides a wider variety of physical education and
health experiences for students by assisting the Athletics Director.
|
|
Music Volunteer |
Provides additional opportunities for students to
develop musical ability, understanding and appreciation. |
|
Special Activities Volunteer |
Provides activities that give support for
instructional and non-instructional programs. |
|
Thrift Store
|
Provide sorting, stocking, and general assistance in
the store. |
|
